Dust Stays in the Bag, Not on Your Shelves

Old style sanding filled a house with fine gray dust for weeks. We hook every sander and edger to a vacuum that sits outside, so the dust leaves with us.

    Plastic on every doorway
Zip walls go up before the first pass, and the kitchen stays usable when we can manage it.
    Low smell finishes
Waterborne finish is our default. It dries clear and you can sleep at home the same night.
    Old houses, careful hands
Radiators, built ins and 100 year old trim get taped and edged by hand.

Two other companies said replace. They cut out the water damaged boards, wove in new oak, and we cannot find the patch.

    Kristen H. Wauwatosa

Three days, one bedroom sealed off at a time, and no dust on the piano. That is all I wanted.

    Greg O. Shorewood

They told us a recoat was enough and saved us about two thousand dollars. We will call them back when it is time to sand.

    Questions Before We Sand

    Is dustless sanding really dustless?

Close to it. Our sanders feed a strong vacuum that sits outside the house. You may see a thin film on a windowsill, but not the gray haze on every shelf you get with an open bag sander.

Can my floor be sanded again?

Most solid oak floors in Milwaukee homes can take several more sandings. We pull a floor vent or a threshold and look at how much wood is left above the tongue before we say yes.

Do we have to move out?

Not for a screen and recoat. For a full refinish, most families stay with friends for a night or two, or we do the house in two halves so you always have a way to the kitchen.

Can you match a stain to the room next door?

Yes. We brush sample squares on your sanded floor and you pick in your own light. We do not guess from a color card.

When can the furniture go back?

Two days after the last coat for waterborne finish and four days for oil. Put felt pads on every leg. Rugs wait two weeks while the finish cures.

We check the wood, pull a vent to measure what is left, and price it on the spot.
