    Straight Answers

The questions we hear at the plant gate most. Tap one to open it.

How long do I have to tell my employer I got hurt?

In Michigan the general rule is 90 days from the injury. Do it sooner. Tell your supervisor in writing, keep a copy, and write down the date and who you told.

Can they fire me for filing a workers' comp claim?

Michigan law says an employer cannot fire or punish you for filing a claim. If it happens, write down the dates and what was said, and call us.

Do I have to see the company doctor?

For the first 28 days of care, your employer can usually pick the doctor. After that you can usually switch to a doctor you choose. Tell the company in writing when you switch.

How much does workers' comp pay while I am off?

Wage loss checks are a portion of your pay. In Michigan it is usually 80 percent of your after tax average weekly wage, up to a state max. Medical care for the injury is paid too.

What does it cost to talk to you?

The first call is free. If we take your case, our fee is a share of what we recover and is limited by Michigan rules. We put it in writing before you sign anything.
