Fired, Shorted or Pushed Out at Work?

We help East Bay workers with unpaid wages, wrongful firing and discrimination. The first call is free and private.

First meetings happen at our office near 19th Street BART, by phone, or after your shift.

What We Take On

We only represent workers. Never the company.

Unpaid Wages and Overtime

Off the clock prep, shaved hours, flat day rates and skipped breaks. California counts overtime by the day, not only by the week.

Wrongful Termination

Let go after you got hurt, asked for leave or reported something unsafe. Most jobs are , but firing someone for an illegal reason is still against the law.

Discrimination and Harassment

Treated worse because of race, age, gender, pregnancy, disability or who you love. We help you file with the state on time and build the record.

Retaliation

Hours cut or a bad schedule right after you complained about pay or safety. Payback for speaking up can be its own claim.

At WillYour job can end for no reason, or for a bad reason. It cannot end for an illegal reason, like your race, a disability, or because you asked about your pay.

Were You Paid Right?

Put in your rate and your usual week. The stub adds up California overtime and break pay the way the law counts it. Nothing leaves this page.

This is general information, not legal advice. Using it does not create an attorney client relationship. It is a rough number, not what you would recover. Real claims turn on your pay records, your job title and the facts.

Break PremiumWhen a California employer does not give a required break, it owes one extra hour of pay for that day. One hour for missed meal breaks and one hour for missed rest breaks, at most one of each per day.

Straight Answers

Can I be fired for no reason in California?

Most jobs in California are at will. That means you can be let go for no reason at all. You cannot be let go for an illegal reason, like your race, age, a disability or a pregnancy, or for speaking up about pay or safety.

How far back can I claim unpaid wages?

Many wage claims reach back three years from the day the claim is filed. Some reach back four. The clock keeps running while you wait, so older weeks can drop off.

What if I get paid in cash or a flat day rate?

You still have a right to overtime and breaks. A flat day rate does not cover overtime unless the math works out. Write down your hours and keep any texts about your schedule.

Does it cost money to talk to you?

The first call is free. For most wage and firing cases we work on a contingency fee. Our fee comes out of any money we recover, and if there is no recovery you owe no fee. We put it in writing before you sign.

Will my boss find out I called?

No. The call is private. We do not contact your employer unless you decide to go forward and tell us to.

Can they punish me for making a claim?

It is against the law to punish you for asking about your pay or making a claim. If your hours were cut or you were let go after you spoke up, tell us. That can be its own claim.
