Going over a power bill with a couple at their kitchen table in Arlington

Pick a Power Plan With the Math Showing

We compare electric plans at your real usage, read the fine print with you, and remind you before your contract runs out.

What Would Each Plan Cost at Your House?

Slide to your usage from last month's bill. We add the delivery charges from the wires utility, so the numbers look like a real bill.

1200kWh
A summer month in a 2,000 sq ft Arlington home often runs 1,500 to 2,000.

Sample plans and rates for this demo, not offers. Estimates include sample delivery charges of $4.50 a month plus 5.6 cents per kWh, and leave out taxes. Real prices change often and depend on the company, your address and the date you sign. Compare every plan yourself on the state utility commission's plan comparison site.

Six Lines to Read Before You Sign

Every plan comes with an . It is one page, and these are the lines that matter.

The one page fact sheet every plan must have. It lists the price at three usage levels, the fees, the term and the renewable share. Ask for it before you sign.
  1. Average price at 500, 1,000 and 2,000 kWh

Find the column closest to your usage. The big number in the ad is often the 1,000 column only.

  2. The fine print

A plan can look cheap at 1,000 kWh and cost a lot more at 999 or 2,001.

  3. Base charge and minimum use fee

A flat monthly fee hurts small apartments most. A minimum use fee charges you for using too little.

  4. Every plan passes these through. Check that the price you compare already includes them.

  5. Term and early cancel fee

Some fees are flat and some are $20 for each month left. Moving out of the service area usually waives it.

  6. Fixed or variable

Fixed holds the energy rate for the term. Variable can change monthly, and summer is when it tends to jump.

A credit, often $100 or more, that only applies when your usage lands inside a set range, like 1,000 to 2,000 kWh. Miss the range and you pay the high base rate with no credit.
What the local wires utility charges to bring power to your meter. It is the same no matter which plan you pick, and it is part of every bill.

The Wires Stay the Same

Your local utility still delivers the power, reads the meter and fixes outages. Only the company that bills you changes.

Compare It Yourself

The state utility commission runs a plan comparison site open to everyone. We use it too, and we show you where.

No Promised Savings

Your bill depends on the weather and your usage. We show estimates at your real numbers, never a guaranteed amount.

Homes and Small Shops

Looking at the AC condenser that drives the summer bill

For Homes

The AC is most of a Texas summer bill. We look at your usage month by month and pick a plan that holds up in August, not just in April.

For Small Businesses

Restaurants, shops and small offices with one or a few meters. We get quotes from several companies and line them up the same way.

  • Terms matched to your lease
  • Demand charges explained
  • Gas quotes where they are allowed

Want Renewable Power?

Many Texas plans are backed by wind and solar credits. We show the renewable share of every plan next to the price, and a 100 percent plan often costs only a little more.

What Neighbors Tell Us

4.9
★★★★★214 Google reviews

Our old plan rolled to a variable rate and we never noticed. He caught it and walked us through three options.

Denise R. Arlington

He showed me why the bill credit plan was a bad fit for my small apartment. Nobody had explained that before.

Chris M. Grand Prairie

Set up both of my shops with plans that end the same month as the lease. Easy to deal with.

Common Questions

Who fixes my power if it goes out?

Your local wires utility, the same as always. It owns the poles and lines, reads the meter and restores outages. The plan you pick only changes who bills you and at what rate.

How do you get paid?

The electric company we place you with pays us a small fee each month you stay. You pay us nothing. We show you plans from several companies, including ones that pay us less.

Can you promise I will save money?

No. Your bill depends on your usage, the weather and the plan you pick. What we can do is show the estimated cost at your real usage, so there are no surprises.

What happens when my contract ends?

If you do nothing, most companies move you to a month to month rate that is often much higher. We send you a reminder about 45 days before your plan ends so you can pick again.

Do you help with natural gas too?

Homes in Arlington buy gas from the local gas utility, so there is no gas plan to pick here. Some small businesses can shop for gas, and we compare those quotes the same way.

We help homes and businesses in Arlington, Grand Prairie, Mansfield, Kennedale, Pantego, Dalworthington Gardens, Euless and east Fort Worth.
