Landscape design and hardscape in Boise

Backyards Built for Boise Summers

We design and build patios, stone walls, planting beds and lighting that hold up to our dry heat and hard winters. One crew does the whole job, start to finish.

Stone, Plants, Water and Light

Most yards are a mix of these. We plan them together so the patio drains right, the sprinklers reach the beds and the lights go in before the sod.

Crew setting stacked stone blocks for a curved retaining wall

A stacked block wall going in on a sloped lot. The gravel behind it is what keeps it standing.

  1. Patios

    From $22 a sq ft

Concrete pavers, flagstone or large porcelain, set on a compacted gravel base that will not heave in a freeze.

  2. Retaining Walls

From $55 a face sq ft
Face square feet is the part of the wall you see, its length times its height. A wall 30 feet long and 2 feet tall is 60 face square feet.

Block, stacked stone or basalt boulders to turn a slope into a flat yard you can use.

  3. Plantings

    From $9 a sq ft

Native and water wise plants on drip, with gravel or bark mulch and steel edging.

  4. Lighting

    From $260 a light

Warm low voltage path lights and uplights on a timer, all brass or copper fixtures.

  5. Sod

    From $2.20 a sq ft

Grade, amend and lay fresh bluegrass blend sod, then set the sprinklers for it.

  6. Irrigation

    From $900 a zone

New zones, drip for beds, smart controllers and fall blowouts before the first freeze.

Hillside lots in the foothills and flat new builds out west need very different yards. We work both.

    What Clients Say

    ★★★★★87 Google reviews

They took a dirt yard and a cracked slab and gave us a patio we sit on every night. The drawing matched the finished yard almost exactly.

    Allison W. Boise

Our slope used to wash mud onto the patio every spring. The new boulder wall fixed it and looks like it has always been there.

    Greg D. Eagle

Clear budget up front and no surprise bills. The crew cleaned up every afternoon, even with our kids and dog around.

    Before We Draw Anything

When is the best time to build a patio in Boise?

We build hardscape from mid March through November, as long as the ground is not frozen. Spring books up fast, so a design done in winter gets you a spot on the spring schedule.

Do you charge for the design?

Yes. A full design with a drawing, a plant list and a written budget is $450. If you build with us, the whole $450 comes off the project.

Will my plants survive a Boise summer?

We plant for our dry heat and cold winters. Most of what we use is native or water wise, on drip lines set for each bed. Plants still need care the first summer while roots grow in.

Do I need a permit for a retaining wall?

In Boise, walls over four feet tall, or walls holding up a driveway or a slope near a house, usually need a permit and an engineer. We check your city rules and handle the paperwork when it applies.

Can you work with my existing sprinklers?

Often, yes. We test every zone first. We tie new beds into your system with drip, and we only replace what is broken or does not reach the new layout.
