Dana did the math with us at the kitchen island while the baby napped. We bought less than the last guy pitched, and it covers everything.

Ashley R. Prosper

She explained term versus whole life in five minutes and never made me feel dumb for asking.

Luis M. Little Elm

She called when our second was born to ask if we needed more. We did, and it took one phone call.

Questions Parents Ask

Term or whole life, which is better for us?

For most young families, term life gives the most coverage for the money while the kids are small and the mortgage is big. Whole life costs more but lasts your whole life and builds cash value. We show you both prices side by side.

Is the life insurance from my job enough?

Often not. Work plans are usually one or two times your pay, and the coverage usually ends when you leave the job. Count it, but do not count on it alone.

Do I need a medical exam?

Maybe not. Many healthy people under 50 can qualify with health questions and a records check. Some plans still ask for a short exam at your home. Approval and price depend on your health and the insurance company.

Should a stay at home parent have coverage?

In most cases, yes. Childcare, school runs and running the house cost real money to replace. Run the calculator with the cost of full time childcare as the income to replace.

What happens when the term ends?

The coverage stops, and so do the payments. By then the kids are grown and the mortgage is smaller. Many policies let you switch to permanent coverage without new health questions. Check your policy for the rules.
