    Before the Van Rolls

    Will you damage my door or lock?

    Almost never. Most home and car lockouts open with picks or a wedge and a reach tool, with no marks. If a lock has to be drilled, we tell you first and give you the price of a new one before we start.

    How do you know it's really my house?

    We check a photo ID with that address, or a lease or bill with your name, once the door is open. If your ID is inside, that's fine. We wait while you get it. No ID, no entry. That rule protects you too.

    Can you make a key for a push to start car?

    Yes, for most makes. We cut the emergency blade and program a new smart key to your car at the curb. Some newer European cars need the dealer. We'll tell you on the phone before we drive out.

    Do you charge more at night?

    From 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. there is a $40 to $60 night charge. You hear the full price on the phone before we send the van, and it matches the bill.

    Should I rekey after I lose my keys?

    If the keys had your address or car on them, yes. Rekeying changes the pins so the old keys stop working. It costs a lot less than new locks and takes about 15 minutes a door.
