Moving Day Questions
How is a local move priced?
By the hour, for the crew and the truck together. The clock starts when we get to your door and stops when the last item is set in the new place. There is a three hour minimum. Stairs, big items and packing add time, and the quote builder above shows about how much.
Do you move pianos and gun safes?
Yes. Upright pianos and safes up to about 500 pounds go on a padded board with straps and at least three movers. There is a flat handling fee for each one. Grand pianos and bigger safes get a free look first so we bring the right gear.
Can you get up Signal Mountain and Lookout Mountain roads?
Yes. We run a 20 foot truck on the steep, tight streets up top and save the 26 foot truck for places with room to turn. Tell us the address and we pick the truck.
What should I pack myself?
If you pack, keep boxes under 50 pounds, tape the top and bottom, and write the room on the side. Leave drawers in the dresser if they are light. We wrap all furniture in blankets for free.
How far ahead should I book?
Two to three weeks for most moves. The end and start of each month fill up first, and so do Saturdays from May to August. Weekday moves in the middle of the month are the easiest to get.
Got a Date in Mind?
Call or text and we will tell you which crews are open that week.
