Before You Call
Do I have to sign a contract?
No. Monitoring is month to month. You pay for the equipment and install once, and it is yours. Cancel with 30 days notice and everything keeps working with the phone app.
What happens when the power goes out in a storm?
The alarm panel has a battery that runs about a day, and it talks to the monitoring center over cellular, not a phone line. For cameras, we add a small battery backup next to the recorder so they keep recording through short outages.
Where do the camera recordings go?
To a small recorder in a closet or the garage. Nothing leaves your house unless you turn on cloud backup. You watch live and play back clips on your phone.
Can I keep the equipment from my old alarm company?
Often, yes. Most wired door and window sensors work with a new panel. We check what you have on the first visit and only replace what does not work.
Does the HOA need to approve cameras?
Most Katy HOAs allow cameras under the eaves and a doorbell by the door without asking. A few want a form for anything on the front of the house. We tell you which rules we have seen in your neighborhood.
