Pulled in on my lunch break with my renewal notice. Out in 12 minutes and the DMV had it before I got back to work.

Gloria R. Rosedale

My notice said STAR station and I had no idea what that meant. They explained it in one sentence and got me done.

Kevin P. Oildale

Selling my 2023 and called to book a smog. They told me I didn't need one. Honest people.

Smog Questions We Answer All Day

Do I need an appointment?

No. Drive in any time we are open. Most cars are done in about 15 minutes. Saturday mornings and the last week of the month are the busiest, so come early.

What should I bring?

Just the car and your DMV renewal notice if you have one. We look the car up by the VIN or plate. The pass goes to the DMV by computer, so there is no paper to mail.

My check engine light is on. Will I pass?

No. On a 2000 or newer car, a lit check engine light is an automatic fail. Get it fixed first and drive the car for a few days after, so the computer finishes its self tests.

What happens if my car fails?

We print the report and walk you through why it failed. We are a test only station, so we can't fix it, but we give you the report to take to any repair shop. You get one free retest here within 30 days.

What is a STAR station?

The state rates smog stations on how well they test. If your DMV notice says your car must go to a STAR station, only a STAR certified station can pass it. We are STAR certified.

Registration Due This Month?

Come in before the last week, when the line gets long. Call if you want to know the wait right now.
