We Grew Up Here Too
Carla is from Logan County. Dean is from Point Pleasant. We know what a day of work in these hills does to a body.
Plain Talk About Money
Nobody should have to pay a lawyer before they get a check. So you don't.
Nothing up front. If you win back pay, our fee comes out of it, and Social Security has to approve it first.
Federal law caps the fee at 25 percent of past due benefits or $9,200, whichever is less.
If you do not win, you owe us no fee.

Questions People Ask on the First Call
What are work credits?
You earn work credits when you work and pay Social Security taxes. You can earn up to four a year. SSDI needs enough credits in all, and enough of them recent. SSI does not use work credits at all.
I stopped working years ago. Is it too late?
Not always. Your coverage usually lasts about five years after you stop working. If your disability began before that date, you may still qualify, even if you apply later. Proving it gets harder with time, so call soon.
Do I have to drive to Charleston?
No. Most of our clients never visit the office. We meet by phone, by video, or at your kitchen table anywhere in our area. We only ask you to come in if it helps you.
What does it cost?
Nothing up front. If you win back pay, our fee comes out of it. Federal law caps the fee at 25 percent of past due benefits or $9,200, whichever is less. If you do not win, you owe no fee.
Can you help with black lung or miners' benefits too?
Black lung benefits are a separate federal program with its own rules. We can tell you on the first call whether we handle your kind of claim or who does.
