Behind With the IRS? Let's Get You Caught Up.
Back tax help for Worcester contractors, stylists and drivers. I start with the plan you can set up yourself.
What Would an IRS Payment Plan Cost a Month?
The IRS offers payment plans people can set up themselves. Put in what you owe and how fast you want to pay, and see a rough monthly number and whether you need help at all.
An estimate, not an offer of credit. It uses a sample rate of 7 percent a year for interest, plus a failure to pay penalty of 0.25 percent a month while a plan is in place, over the term you pick. The IRS sets its rate every quarter, so your real cost will differ.
No promise to lower what you owe. Your balance depends on your returns and the IRS. Setup fees depend on how you apply, and are lowest online with direct debit.

I Work the Hours You Do
I have done taxes in Worcester for 22 years, the last 11 as an enrolled agent. Almost everyone I help works for themselves. Roofers, plumbers, hair stylists, rideshare and delivery drivers, house cleaners.
The story is usually the same. A good year, no estimated payments, then a bill in April you could not cover. Then another. Nobody is in trouble for that. We just have to get the returns filed and pick a plan you can keep.
I open at 7 on weekdays and I will meet you at a job site if that is easier. Your first call is free, and I tell you up front if IRS.gov can do it for you.

She got a penalty taken off because it was my first time. She was clear up front that the rest was still owed.

Straight Answers
Can I set up an IRS payment plan without you?
Yes, and many people should. If you owe $50,000 or less in tax, penalties and interest and your returns are filed, you can usually apply for a plan online at IRS.gov in about half an hour. I will tell you on the first call if that is all you need.
Can you get my tax bill cut down?
I cannot promise that, and you should be careful of anyone who does. The IRS takes less than the full amount only when it believes it cannot collect the rest, and most people do not qualify. Some penalties can be removed for a first time or for a good reason, and I check for that on every file.
I have not filed in three years. Where do I start?
With the returns. The IRS wants every required return filed before it will agree to a plan. Bring what you have, even a shoebox of receipts and your bank statements. I can pull your income records from the IRS with your written okay.
Will the IRS take my truck or my tools?
Seizing tools and work trucks is rare, but levies on bank accounts and customer payments do happen after the final notices. If you got a letter that says intent to levy, call me the same week. A plan or a hold can usually be set up before it gets that far.
How do you charge?
A flat fee for each job, written down before I start, like a quote from a contractor. Catching up unfiled years is priced per return. Setting up a plan is one flat fee. The first call is free.
Got a Letter This Week?
Ask for a call back and I will ring you before 7 the next morning or after your workday, your pick. No charge for the call.
