Service Contract Facts

Service Contracts, Sold Straight

Some cars need one. Many don't. We tell you which, with the price and the fine print up front.

Got a Call Saying Your Warranty Is Expiring?

That was not us, and it is almost never your dealer or carmaker. We never robocall, and we never ask for a card number on a call you did not make. Hang up and call the number on your own paperwork.

Is a Service Contract Worth It for Your Car?

Five questions. You get a straight answer, the level of coverage to look at, a sample price and what is never covered.

Go by public owner surveys for your model and year, or ask us. We will tell you what we see come through the shop.

Not a manufacturer's warranty. Coverage depends on the contract you sign. Prices are sample ranges for this demo, and a real quote depends on the car, the miles and the plan.

Three Levels, in Plain Words

Every plan has a list. What matters is whether the part that breaks is on it.

They told me my Camry didn't need one and to save the money. Came back to them for tires because of that.

Brenda S. Nixa

Transmission went at 96,000 miles. The contract paid for it minus my $100 deductible, like they said.

Travis H. Republic

He read me every exclusion out loud before I signed. No surprises later.

Straight Answers

Is a service contract the same as my factory warranty?

No. A vehicle service contract is not a manufacturer's warranty. It is a separate contract that pays for certain repairs. What it covers depends on the contract you sign, so read the list of covered parts and the exclusions.

I got a call saying my warranty is expiring. Was that you?

No. We never robocall. Those calls are almost never from your dealer or your carmaker. Hang up, don't press any buttons, and never give a card number on a call you did not make.

Can I cancel after I buy?

Yes. Most contracts give a full refund in the first 30 to 60 days if you have no claims, then a prorated refund after that. The exact terms are in your contract, and we point them out before you sign.

Do I have to get repairs done at your shop?

No. The plans we sell work at any licensed repair shop in the country. We are happy to do the work, but it is your choice.

Can I buy one if my car already has a problem?

You can buy one, but it won't pay for a problem that started before the contract. Most plans also have a waiting period of 30 days and 1,000 miles before claims are paid.

Want a Straight Answer on Your Car?

Call the service desk. Bring the VIN and the miles, and we will tell you if it is worth it.
