Ms. Adeyemi never rushed us. She came to the house twice before we decided anything and called every other Friday after that.

Karen P. Cuyahoga Falls

I did not know I had to open an estate first. They walked me through probate court step by step.

Devon H. Barberton

They found the records the hospital said did not exist. For our family, getting the truth mattered most.

Questions Families Ask

Who can bring a wrongful death claim in Ohio?

The claim is filed by the personal representative of the estate, the person the probate court names to handle it. It is brought for the family. A spouse, children and parents are presumed to have been harmed, and other next of kin can be included too.

How long does our family have to file?

In most Ohio wrongful death cases, 2 years from the date of death. Some cases have extra notice steps, so it helps to talk early, even if you are not ready to decide anything.

Do we have to go to court?

Many wrongful death claims are settled without a trial. If a case does go to court, we prepare you for every step, and you can decide how much you want to be part of it.

What if the death happened after medical care?

Deaths linked to medical care follow extra rules in Ohio, including expert review before a case is filed. We work with doctors who review records and tell us honestly if care fell short.

What does it cost to talk with you?

Nothing. The first talk is free and private. If we take the case, our fee is a share of any recovery, and there is no fee if there is no recovery. We explain it in writing before anyone signs.

Talk When You Are Ready

There is no pressure and no cost to ask questions. If now is not a good time, ask for a call back and pick the time.

Ask for a Call Back

Tell us when to call. Only a lawyer or our paralegal will call you.

Thank you. On a live site, this goes straight to the office and a lawyer calls at the time you picked. This demo does not send anything.
