Ten Years In. Still Picking Up at 2 AM.

Silver State Locksmith has been with us since 2015. Mike German and his partner Ezra run a 24 hour locksmith shop in Las Vegas, and Mike just became a guest on our podcast. This is his story, what he told us on the show, and why his advice is the best thing you can read before you call any locksmith near me.

On Smoke & Receipts

One of the First

Silver State Locksmith was one of our very first clients. They came on in 2015, and they are still here. Mike German and his partner Ezra run the shop. They do homes, businesses and cars, and they answer the phone twenty four hours a day.

Mike put it best in the case study he gave us years ago. In just 8 weeks his business went from a couple of dozen locksmith calls a month to over 100 in month 3. That was the start. What kept them here is that the phone kept ringing, and Mike kept picking it up.

Why We Put Mike on the Podcast

We started Smoke & Receipts to take the hype people hear about a trade and hold it up to the truth. When it came time to have real owners on the show, I wanted the people who have been with us the longest. Mike was an easy call.

The hype we checked with him is the one every locksmith hears. You get locked out, you search locksmith near me, and you call whoever comes up first. Any locksmith will do. Mike says no, and he says why.

What Mike Told Us

Some of those locksmith near me results are not a shop at all. Mike told us some use fake addresses just to look close to you. His advice is to do your homework first. Read the reviews on Yelp and with the Better Business Bureau. Look for a real company with a real shop. If you just call anybody, it can cost you a lot later.

"For me, this business is about more than locks and keys. It's about helping people feel safe and secure."

For anyone thinking about opening a locksmith business, Mike was just as plain. Be ready to work nights. People call at two and three in the morning and they count on you to answer. Open a storefront so customers can find you and trust you. Give the price up front. Be honest.

The Format Was Different on Purpose

Most episodes are loud. This one is a sit down. Justin and Marcus slowed down, dropped the sound effects and talked to Mike like family, because he is. The verdict was still smoke. Not any locksmith will do. Find a real one.

Mike recorded his answers from his phone on a private link we sent him. No mic, no studio and no travel. He heard the episode before it went live, and he signed off on it. The player is at the top of this page.

That Is How We Keep Clients for Ten Years

We do not keep clients with contracts. We keep them by showing up. Mike picks up at two in the morning for his customers, so we try to do the same for him. If you have a business and you would like to be on the show, reach out and we will send you a link.

If you are in Las Vegas and you are locked out, call Silver State Locksmith. You can find them at silverstatelocksmith.com.

The Real Takeaway

The fastest locksmith on the search page is not always a locksmith. Check for a real shop, read the reviews and get the price up front. Mike has done it the right way in Las Vegas for more than twenty years.
