How We Met
I met Brian the way we meet most of the mechanics we work with. He found his business on MechanicRank and claimed the listing in August 2026. He filled it in himself. His radius, his insurance, his ASE certification and the kinds of cars he will work on.
The first thing we did together was not a sales call. We had a pre purchase inspection near him, so we sent it to him and paid him $150 to do it. That was before we really talked about anything else. No pitch came with it. Just a job, and the money for the job.
That is how we like to start. We put up proof before we ever meet. Sometimes that means we already have jobs ready to go when we call.
His Wife Told Him He Better Sign Up
Brian told me his wife Chrissy told him he had better sign up. So he did. I laughed when he said it, but she was right, and it was not the first time she pushed him.
When we asked Brian about the hardest stretch of starting out, he named her too.
"Then I met my wife Chrissy, and she pushed me to go for it, really go for it. Having somebody to believe in you like that, it changes everything."
Everybody needs a Chrissy. Marcus said that on the show, and he meant it.
Who Brian Is
Brian spent ten years in restaurants and five in the grocery business. Then he took a job at an express lube place and made assistant manager in about six months. The shop wanted $100 ticket averages with ten minute bay times. That meant telling people they needed things they did not need.
He would not do it. He figured that if he could run their shop and their people, he could run his own. So he started Huey's Mobile. He began with oil changes posted on Facebook and hoped the phone would ring.
Today he does brakes, batteries, diagnostics, alternators and oil changes in your driveway or at your job. When you call, you get Brian. Not a call center.
The Work Since Then
Since late September Brian has run his business on our Shop Desk. As of October 10 he has 13 paid jobs on it. We only count paid jobs. Cancelled ones and open quotes are not in that number. He also has more than 130 Google reviews, rated 5.0.

We rebuilt hueysmobile.com around his own reviews, so every claim on the site carries a count of how many customers said it. When a job comes in near Monroe, Brian gets the first text. And when he told us about the veteran whose radiator died the same month his rent was due, we knew he belonged on the podcast.
Hear Brian in His Own Voice
Brian is the first real guest on Smoke & Receipts, our show where we take a piece of hype and check it against real numbers. The hype was that every mechanic is out to upsell you. Every guest line in the episode is Brian's own recording, in his own words. The player is at the top of this page.
That Is Why We Do What We Do

I built an auto repair shop from scratch. I know what it is like to wait for the phone to ring. I also know how many people have sold mechanics a promise and never delivered a single customer.
So we do it the other way around. We send the job first. We pay for the work first. We build the site before anybody pays us a dime. Then we talk. If we cannot show you proof, we have not earned the call.
Brian walked away from a paycheck so he would not have to upsell people. The least we can do is show up with real work before we ask him for anything. That is the whole reason Clickflame, Supercanic and MechanicRank exist.
